Roland Benoit est artiste peintre professionnel. Il est né dans le nord de l’Ontario et habite au Québec depuis 1982.

Démarche artistique

Ma démarche artistique repose sur deux thèmes, soit : l’identité et l’intériorité. Je m’intéresse particulièrement à la relation qui existe entre les deux. Les plans rapprochés des visages et les représentations du corps révèlent les mouvements intérieurs, les obstacles et les éléments qui contribuent au développement et l’affirmation de l’identité personnelle. L’utilisation de techniques mixtes permet de mieux représenter et exprimer toute la complexité de l’être.

My artwork is inspired by two themes : identity and interiority. I am especially interested in the relationship between these two themes. The expression of inner movement, obstacles and elements that contribute to the development and affirmation of personal identity are expressed with the representation of the human body and close-ups of the human face. Mixed media are used to translate and represent the challenge of conscious existence.
